About Me

Feeling Myself

Karen Linette is a songstress, actress, and radio personality that hails from Silver Spring, Maryland in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. For thirty plus years in music, she has been commanding audiences, performing at venues throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area and abroad. She has graced the stage at historic venues such as Blues Alley, DAR Constitution Hall, and The Warner Theatre in Washington, DC respectively and the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City. She has honored our country on many occasions with the National Anthem at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Verizon Center in Washington, DC for NBA teams, the Washington Mystics and the Washington Wizards.

Karen Linette has worked with a plethora of musicians and groups and has been also collaborated on stage with an abundance of artists to include Norman Connors, Dawn Robinson (En Vogue), Michael Henderson, Mike Phillips, CeCe Peniston, Club Nouveau, Miles Jaye, Anthony David, Miki Howard, Tom Browne, Regina Belle, Dexter Wansel, and Eric Roberson.

Karen Linette released her long-awaited EP, “Upside of Life” in April 2019. An EP of jazzy/soul elements, with chart-topping tunes “Another Star” (official music video via YouTube), and the dance title track, ”Upside of Life” featuring recording artist Najee, both landing on the Smooth Jazz Top 100 and UK Soul Charts respectively and the Billboard Smooth Jazz Most Added List . Karen was also up for Grammy consideration for “Best R&B Song” and “Best New Artist” in October 2019.

In 2019, Karen Linette starred as lead actress in the Dennis Williams stage play “I’ve Cried the Blues” at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC with guest stars Avery Sunshine and KeKe Wyatt.

Since, Karen Linette has continued to perform throughout the US and thrilling audiences with her blend of Soul, R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Hip-Hop with recently performing in honor of Mayor of the District of Columbia, the honorable Muriel Bowser, and former Prince Georges County Executive, now Maryland Senator, the honorable Angela Alsobrooks.
